Facing competition from the more modern Toyota Innova, GM has launched a new variant of the Tavera called the Elite (a suffix that GM used earlier for the Corsa).
The car features what the company calls `plushfeel interiors' — seats and carpeting in beige colour. The seats are still in fabric though, even in the top end SS version. The car features air-conditioning vents for all three rows. But unlike other cars that have their rear seat AC vents behind the front passenger seats, the Tavera Elite has its rear AC vents mounted above the rear seat head restraints and are extremely inconvenient to use. Features such as keyless entry, a car alarm and a new Alpine MP3, CD-player have also been added to the top-end SS variant to improve its appeal amongst individual car buyers. A new colour called `rainforest' has been introduced and the top end SS variant comes only in this colour.
